Should legal blogs hold themselves to a higher standard? Do legal bloggers, especially if they are lawyers, have a higher duty of care than other bloggers? Do legal bloggers have an obligation to leave an audit trail when they change old posts? Should legal bloggers refrain from linking to dubious sources? Should legal bloggers assume greater responsibility for the accuracy of their contents than other bloggers? Is a lawyer's blog at least partially an extension of his or her practice? Lawyers are regulated in how they advertise. If a legal blog serves a secondary purpose of advertising a lawyer's practice, is it any different from any other web advertising? Or print advertising for that matter?
If legal blogs become ubiquitous, does it help or hurt legal blogging if all (or at least some large number) of legal bloggers voluntarily adhere to a set of ethical guidelines?
